Q . What is Dynamic Routing ?
When protocols are used to find networks & update routing table on routers , A Routing Protocol defines the set of rules used by router when it communicates routing info between neighbour routers .
There are two types of protocols used in internetwork : -
Interior Gateway Protocols ( IGPs ) : - to exchange information with routers in same Autonomous systems (AS ) no.
Exterior Gateway Protocols ( EGPs ) :- to communicate between different AS no.
Components of Routing : -
Autonomous System : - it is a collection of networks under a common administrative domain , which basically means that all routers sharing the same routing table information are in same A.S
Admininstrative Distance : - A.D. is use to rate the trustworthiness of routing info received on a router from a neighbouring router . An Admin. Dist. is an function integer ranging from 0 - 255 ., where 0 is most trusted & 255 means no traffic will be passed via this route .
Some default Administrative Distance : -
Route Source Default A.D.
Connected Interface 0
Static Route 1

Ext. E.I.G.R.P. 170
Unknown - 255 (This Routing will never be used )
